It is “Your invitation into deeper Identity, Intimacy, and Imagination with God”. This sums this book up to perfection. The Author writes an allegory of a young woman who goes on a journey to find something precious. During her journey she discovers some very real and practical life lessons -To be expectant on God, to open her heart, true restoration, and not going it alone. She faces obstacles along her path as well as gaining welcomed assistances, and making decisions When I began to read, it seemed the book was going to be slow going. However, as I began to understand the rhythm of the Authors writings I found myself intrigued and going through the pages quickly. This could very well be used as a bible study for a small group. One of my favorite quotes from this book is this: “Life is not meant to be something we control but something we experience”. Expectant vs Expectations. I also noticed, that the person who loaned me the book highlighted a completely different section that touched their soul, than I did. That leads me to believe that whomever reads this Story of With, one section will hit deeper for one than another. VJB

This is a good quick read; at least for me as I could not put the book down, it is spellbinding as she tells her story of 91 days hidden in a bathroom with seven other women. Immaculee’ is a devout Catholic and I am in love with her actions of going deeper with God by going outside of the tiny bathroom mentally and spiritually, looking for that hope and future that God has planned for her. “We may not have been a pretty site, but I’d never felt more beautiful. Each day I awoke and thanked God for giving me life, and each morning He made me feel loved and cherished” At this point she had been in the tiny bathroom for seven weeks with little food, no shower, sickness, and infestation of body lice. She shares many of her conversations with God along with several unexplained God moments that spared her life as well as others. Starting in her own season of terror, she forgave and showed His Love toward those that were a part of the killings. Immaculee’ believes God has given her a message and the ability to express His Love and Forgiveness toward others. She travels all over the world speaking of His incredible Love and Forgiveness. vjb Good News about Injustice is a story based on scriptures about the fallen world, the God of Justice and His work of rescue and redemption through his people. " God’s Sovereignty is definitely a theme throughout this book and an understanding of God’s great compassion for His creation. Since there is to no extent of God’s creation that He himself has not been willing to bear these same sufferings and beyond. Uniformly that sovereignty points to the many hands of God’s children that can make a difference no matter their means or position. Being aware of these injustices is simply not enough, we need to be Compassionate and take action. As in Matt 22:37-40 we are to love God and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Loving God means loving the things He created and the one’s loved by God, and loving our neighbors’ means treating them as we ourselves would like to be treated or rescued. "Incidents of injustice are not just something that happens in an unfair world. God is appalled by them and calls us to seek justice." God is asking in Isaiah 6:8 who will do His rescuing; "I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me." The Author shares his experiences in the fields of Injustice. He is transparent and authentic of his first-hand experiences of the injustice of Genocide in Rwanda, slavery and child labor abuses, forced prostitution and other violations of human rights in various countries. He Brings out the point of our own U.S. history of oppression and abuses upon individuals. Highlighting the Champion’s of justice, using these people as encouragement, that no injustice is too large to overcome, it’s all in how you approach it. Hagan also gives practical applications to rescue the oppressed as well as realistic actions for the body of Christ and how the local church can help. I would recommend reading this book as it reinforces the luxuries that we are privileged to have here in the U.S. The reflection and a discussion guide in the back I believe it would be great for an Adult Sunday School class or Bible Study.
