Good News about Injustice is a story based on scriptures about the fallen world, the God of Justice and His work of rescue and redemption through his people. " God’s Sovereignty is definitely a theme throughout this book and an understanding of God’s great compassion for His creation. Since there is to no extent of God’s creation that He himself has not been willing to bear these same sufferings and beyond. Uniformly that sovereignty points to the many hands of God’s children that can make a difference no matter their means or position. Being aware of these injustices is simply not enough, we need to be Compassionate and take action. As in Matt 22:37-40 we are to love God and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Loving God means loving the things He created and the one’s loved by God, and loving our neighbors’ means treating them as we ourselves would like to be treated or rescued. "Incidents of injustice are not just something that happens in an unfair world. God is appalled by them and calls us to seek justice." God is asking in Isaiah 6:8 who will do His rescuing; "I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me." The Author shares his experiences in the fields of Injustice. He is transparent and authentic of his first-hand experiences of the injustice of Genocide in Rwanda, slavery and child labor abuses, forced prostitution and other violations of human rights in various countries. He Brings out the point of our own U.S. history of oppression and abuses upon individuals. Highlighting the Champion’s of justice, using these people as encouragement, that no injustice is too large to overcome, it’s all in how you approach it. Hagan also gives practical applications to rescue the oppressed as well as realistic actions for the body of Christ and how the local church can help. I would recommend reading this book as it reinforces the luxuries that we are privileged to have here in the U.S. The reflection and a discussion guide in the back I believe it would be great for an Adult Sunday School class or Bible Study.
